Get Back on Track Chances are, right now, you’re fighting daytime fatigue more than usual. If possible, try to take a quick 20-minute nap when you can during the day to recharge your batteries. However, this nap needs to be no more than 20 minutes. If you take a long nap, it’ll be more difficult to fall asleep when bedtime arrives. The time change plays tricks on our bodies. If your usual bedtime is 10 p.m., it will feel like you’re trying to go to sleep at 9 p.m. for a little while after the time change. The best way to handle this is to gradually go to bed earlier and wake earlier for a week prior to the beginning of daylight saving time. Since it’s too late to do that this year, help reset your body clock by starting your bedtime routine and turning off electronics at least an hour before bedtime. If you’ve been putting off starting an exercise routine, now’s the time to begin. Exercising during the day can help you sleep better at night, as long as your workout occurs way before your bedtime.
